Description
Cetraria or Iceland moss is a perennial foliated lichen, presented in pine-wood and open barren lands. Cetraria is wide spread in the whole Northern hemisphere till the Arctic Zone.
Iceland moss infusion is used while having tuberculosis, asthma and other lung diseases, as well as against different kinds of cold-related infections. Also it is possible to use while having problems with gastrointestinal tract.
Usnic acid, the main active substance of Iceland moss, has a strong antibiotic activity, suppresses the growth of tuberculosis mycobacteria and other gram-positive micro-organisms (staphylococcus, streptococcus).
In medicine dried thallus of Iceland moss, which has a soft unique smell and bitter-slimy taste.

Usage
Pour ¼ lt of cold water over the 2 teaspoons of Iceland moss tea beverage, slowly warm till boiling and immediately filter. Drink one cup 2-3 times a day. When coughing the infusion can be sweetened with honey.
